Car Insurance with Progressive
Watch at least a couple hours of television at any time of day, and you are sure to see a commercial featuring Flo, the friendly, yet somewhat flighty Progressive Insurance spokesperson. Flo's commercial spots have become constant reminders that Progressive has ways to save you money, even if it is not with them.
Progressive is one of the few insurance companies that offers you the opportunity to compare rates when shopping for auto insurance. After you are done filling in the required information for an auto insurance quote from Progressive, they will line up their quote with other national auto insurance companies, giving you the opportunity to see how Progressive's rates compare with other companies. Sometimes, Progressive will offer the lowest auto insurance rate, while other times they will not.
One visit to Progressive.com to prepare an auto insurance quote and it becomes quite clear that Progressive is straightforward about their rates when compared to other companies. They will not try and sugar coat things when their rates come in higher than other national companies. Instead, you are free to browse the different tools and programs they offer to decide for yourself if paying a little extra for Progressive Auto Insurance is worth it for you.
Name Your Price Tool: Progressive offers you the opportunity to find a coverage package that comes closest to your budget or price range. Simply tell Progressive what your desired price or budget is, and they will filter the options based on cost. The packages that come closest to your guideline are the ones you will see first. After you fine tune your price, Progressive will show you any areas where you may have too little or too much coverage, thus enabling you to choose the package that is right for you.
Snapshot: Exclusively offered by Progressive Insurance, this device plugs in the port in your car, generally located near the steering wheel, and it offers you the opportunity to examine your driving habits to see if you could be saving more money. However, people living in certain states, including Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Rhode Island and South Carolina could end up paying a $30 fee for Snapshot, which is considered to be a "technology expense." Snapshot is also not available in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Indiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Multiple policy discounts are available to Progressive customers.

Like most auto insurance companies, Progressive Insurance does have some disadvantages:
Lack of business insurance offerings: Businesses looking to take advantage of advertised savings from Progressive will not find many offerings to choose from. Currently, Progressive only offers businesses commercial auto insurance. This will only benefit businesses with automobile fleets or delivery vehicle service.
No Better Business Bureau rating: While an insurance company is not required to seek accreditation from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), consumers who are interested in finding out how Progressive handles and resolves customer complaints will not find any information backed by the BBB.
No new car replacement or GAP insurance: If you are in an automobile accident, Progressive Insurance will not cover the remaining cost of your car loan.
Mixed mobile application reviews: Users of Progressive Insurance's Apple or Android applications, who rely on the speed and convenience of filing a claim or getting a quote online, have given mixed reviews, with most harboring negative opinions.
